What changes from house to house?
In Jyotish, Mars (Mangala) is associated with effort, action and disagreement. A bhava, or house, names the part of the chart under discussion. Ask: Where might the reader ask about initiative, coordination or contest? Mars does not establish aggression, physical danger, accidents or the outcome of a dispute. Traditional house subjects and aspect conventions appear in the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra; the text’s severe historical predictions are not established facts about a reader.

The occupied house is only one part of a reading. Verify birth time and Lagna, identify the house lord and Mars’s sign and dispositor, and check rulership and conjunctions. In a common Parashari convention, Mars also casts fourth and eighth aspects in addition to its seventh. These are interpretive links between chart topics, not event predictions. Houses and ascendant give the basic map; dignity and combustion are separate technical questions, not outcome scores.
