What changes from house to house?
In Jyotish, Sun (Surya) is associated with authority, visibility and initiative. A bhava, or house, names the part of the chart under discussion. Ask: What does it mean to take responsibility or be seen in this part of life? The Sun is not a measure of health, ego, rank or authority over another person. Traditional house subjects and aspect conventions appear in the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra; the text’s severe historical predictions are not established facts about a reader.

What else matters in this chart?
The occupied house is only one part of a reading. Verify birth time and Lagna, identify the house lord and Sun’s sign and dispositor, and check rulership and conjunctions. In a common Parashari convention, Sun casts a seventh aspect from its position. These are interpretive links between chart topics, not event predictions. Houses and ascendant give the basic map; dignity and combustion are separate technical questions, not outcome scores.
